The Soldier's Bible Violates the Constitution

The tide of liberalism pushes ever onward. Holman Bible Publishers in Nashville publish The Soldier's Bible, a gilt-edged Protestant Bible with one of five emblems on it: Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, or Coast Guard. Until now, this has been looked upon as being perfectly fine. But not any more. According to a radio broadcast on National Public Radio, "critics think the emblem on the front brings up legal questions -- and may even violate the Constitution's ban on government-established religion." Oh, for crying out loud! How many times must it be said that THERE IS NO CONSTITUTIONAL BAN ON THE GOVERNMENT PARTICIPATING IN RELIGION!? I suppose that under these new rules, it violates the Constitution for me to write "United States Government" on this blog, because the word "Bible" is in the URL of the website, thus associating the government with religion. This is the first amendment: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, or prohibiting the freedom of speech, or of the press, or of the right of the people peaceably to assemble and petition the government for redress of grievances." Congress shall make no law. So this amendment relates only to LAWS made directly by CONGRESS. That in and of itself floors any argument concerning prayers mandated by public school principals or anything else. This also means that the 14th amendment does not apply here; we aren't defining rights, we are just restricting the House and the Senate. respecting an establishment of religion. Careful study of the Constitutional Congress transcript shows inevocably that this "religion" they speak of refers to particular denominations of Christianity. So Congress could make a law establishing Christianity as a national religion, as long as it didn't mandate any particular form or denomination (allowing non-religion-specific prayer in schools is much less than this). Of course, this still leaves the states free to be as denominational as they wish (see above). or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. So Congress can't restrict the practices of any denomination of Christianity. If I want to be Baptist, Congress can't stop me. If I want to be Evangelical, Congress can't throw me in jail. And today, chaplains in the United States Military are being penalized for sharing their faith with other G.I.s!

Unites States Supreme Court

It should be obvious that the Supreme Court has blown this one WAY out of proportion. Let's impeach these judges! In Him, David S. MacMillan III

Great article David! The liberal left has been sawing away at our Christian heritage for a long time now. That must be stopped!

I have a Soldier's Bible (Army) and it is one of the things that helped me get through BCT. It of course has the standard text, but also includes inspirational letters and quotes from legendary military figures as well as military-oriented prayers.

Why They Hate Us, and Why We Must Win the Crusade Against Islam and Liberalism...

The constant persecution of good christian Americans by the secularists, liberals, ++++++s, ++++++s, godless atheists, freedom haters, etc. continues to march on to the sound of satan's drumbeat in the United States today.

These people would like nothing more than for our government to renounce the clearly christian undertones that were put into place by politicians during the communist-atheist scares of the 1950s.

Back then, just like right now, we witness the most viscious drive from the filthy anti-christian heathen groups mentioned above since our nation's athiestic founders.

These people should be dragged out into the streets and shot, or taken to Gitmo and electrocuted on their ++++++++s. I wish I was around to take vengence on the nation's founders for being so vigilant to keep christianity out of our government.

The founding fathers used celebrity, mysticism and socialist propaganda in order to separate the American government from religion and money.

As they would have it, power would come to the hardcore working class and those who organized labour into collectively bargaining organizations rather than people of the nobler, upper class, who invest inherited money into owning a business.

++++ Charles Darwin, and his survival of the fittest - the true test will be the survival of the wealthiest. The fit will starve in unemployment, and even the weakest freaks who take Jesus into their heart will survive and prosper.

Evolution must be outwitted to send a clear message to the scientific community - accept Jesus or die in shame. The new paradigm is survival of the holiest, and I feel no remorse for the heathen who will all lose their lives.

Jesus, like everyone else, has bills to pay and knows that all true value comes in the form of green money. The +++++++++ welfare mothers and the under-christian handicapped will have to fend for themselves or start a charity.

I idolize eric michael rudolph- All the liberals, ++++++, and heathen should be exterminated like the immoral infestation that they represent.

These people will stop at nothing to try and make us christians practice our religion in our homes and churches, and not in the public square, our oppression has no limits in spite of the fact that our suffering has no credibility...

Whether the liberals like it or not, this country is christian. If they dont like it then they should commit suicide to end up in hell now, rather than waiting for their heathen death, which would lead to the same eternity, in all the scorn of mortal apostacy.

They should make it easy for themselves and do themselves in - after all, suicide bombers come in christian stripes as much as muslim, and it's better to know not just where you will go, but also how and when... If you die in the name of god or country then nothing else matters.

They must hate us because we love religion, freedom, and morality... Right?

- Roscoe Arbuckle

By the way, anonymous, I also corrected a bunch of really bad spelling. It might help you to know that "atheist" is spelled A-T-H-E-I-S-T, not A-T-H-I-E-S-T. It's another of those words that just doesn't follow the spelling rules you learned in preschool.

Your comment was entirely . . . I wouldn't normally say this . . . but it really fits the occasion . . . stupid. That's right, the bulwark of D3-ism really did call your comment stupid. Why? Never in your comment did you address one of my points.

Rather, you spent your time ranting and raving about non-existent biases and ideals. I will give just a couple examples of the rank nonsense in your post:

These people should be dragged out into the streets and shot, or taken to Gitmo and electrocuted on their ++++++++s.

When have Evangelical Christians advocated the execution of those who disagree with us? Give me one historical example.

I wish I was around to take vengence on the nation's founders for being so vigilant to keep christianity out of our government.

The founding fathers used celebrity, mysticism and socialist propaganda in order to separate the American government from religion and money.

What would you say to this quote by John Jay, first Supreme Court Chief Justice?

It is the duty of our Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for our rulers.

++++ Charles Darwin, and his survival of the fittest - the true test will be the survival of the wealthiest. The fit will starve in unemployment, and even the weakest freaks who take Jesus into their heart will survive and prosper.

So Christianity is the religion for the rich? What about the thousands of Christians in the Sudan and Middle East who are tortured for their faith daily?

The +++++++++ welfare mothers and the under-christian handicapped will have to fend for themselves or start a charity.

Curious, isn't it, that the vast majority of charities worldwide are run by or were founded by Christians?

These people will stop at nothing to try and make us christians practice our religion in our homes and churches, and not in the public square,

It's not religion. It's the truth.

our oppression has no limits in spite of the fact that our suffering has no credibility...

Just go to VOM to get this myth dispelled.

after all, suicide bombers come in christian stripes as much as muslim

Give me any historical example of a Evangelical/Conservative Christian suicide bomber.

If you die in the name of god or country then nothing else matters.

Note that it was a secular liberal professor who said that the 9-11 hijackers were heroes and that the people in the trade towers got what they deserved.

Anonymous, you disgust me.
